They are both high-intensity sweeteners that will not spike your blood sugar, but they are very different.

Natural vs Artificial:
Splenda (sucralose), is an artificial sweetener, meaning it’s NOT found in nature. You can go out there and try to look for it, and you will not find it. It was made artificially by humans.

Monk Fruit, on the other hand, is of course a natural sweetener. Especially if you buy a clean extract that doesn’t include added preservatives, fillers, carriers, or any other additive. Just like this one.

Sweetness Level:
Sucralose, which is what makes Splenda sweet, is 600X sweeter than sugar, while Mogroside V, which is what makes monk fruit sweet, is about 250-300X sweeter than sugar.

Taste:
Generally speaking, Splenda has more of an artificial taste while monk fruit has more of a natural taste.

Price:
Monk Fruit is much more expensive than Splenda.

So, going back to the original question… Which is better? Well, I think it mainly comes down to whether you want to consume a natural or artificial sweetener. If you like to consume natural foods, I would consider monk fruit over Splenda. If you don’t really care, then Splenda offers a lot of sweetness for very little cost.
